Eight Days of Hope, Christian mission service re-building ministry, is sponsoring a massive effort to work on repairing homes in the Pamlico County, North Carolina area – May 26th – June 2nd. You may have read about this project recently in the News and Observer. The hope is to have over 8,000 mission volunteers in place over this one week to make such a difference before the summer comes. Our own Rick has been inspired by this and feels the call to go. He is looking for folks to go with him. Our Missions Committee has appropriated $1,000 of church funds to help with this effort. If you are interested, if you too feel called, please contact Rick, Jim, or Carol or Martha from the Missions Committee. Registration will close May 19th.

What Do You Like to Sing? Now that somber, thought provoking, taking up your cross, sacrificial Lent is drawing to a close and the glory of Easter is almost upon us — its time to ask you what hymns you would like to sing during the upcoming non-liturgical Spring and Summer Seasons of the year. Would you take a few moments to write down and submit a list of your favorite hymns? Either a written or mailed note will do
- or, you can let us know by email. What are your favorite hymns?
What is it that you would most want to sing?
New Baby: As we all know, Kim, our Director of Youth and Children’s Ministry, just had baby Levi, and we can remember how hard it was to get through those first few weeks. We are such a giving church and last Sunday night at the session meeting we discussed how nice it would be to just take a dish over to help them out. If you would like to take something to them let Lisa know so she can coordinate the effort and we don’t overwhelm them or take too much at once. Thank you all again for your wonderful willingness to help out and be so sharing and giving.
Worship Help Needed: We need folks to assist with worship activities by signing up to usher, be in the nursery, give a children’s sermon during church, learn to do the sound system and help with that. If you are willing to help see Sandy. Eventually we plan to get a better system in place but for now we are still asking folks to sign up. Thank you for anything you can do to assist in making worship more meaningful to all.
Children’s Church: Please sign up on the monthly chart in the narthex to help out with the children in our church.
